Sleep Is A Great Teacher
Become Possessed: The Internet
Imagine you’re floating around in the middle of the ocean on a tiny life raft without any fresh drinking water.
One of the most paradoxical situations you will probably never find yourself in—you’re surrounded by H2O and not a single drop of it will do anything but make you more dehydrated.
This is how I feel about the Internet.
Simultaneously our greatest invention ever and Achilles heel.
In my opinion, it’s mostly nonsense. But sometimes, it surprises me!
Sometimes it tosses up a gem that has me ruminating for an entire day, and I think I just found one of those.
I feel obligated to share.
Typically, I like this newsletter to be coming from someone or something you should be embodying—someone whose actions are worth replicating.
This post however, was anonymous. A picture belonging to no one. So I’m gonna get a little creative… bear with me!
Become Possessed by the Internet!
After all, it’s a pretty good teacher, if you use it right… like Uncle Ben said “with great power comes great responsibility.”
Leverage its power for good! Use it to your advantage, not your detriment! Dig up more gems like this!
“To fall asleep, you must first pretend to sleep (and that’s how everything works).”
I like this because it coincides with my message about being. The first quote I ever shared on this app was “take care of the garden and the butterflies will come.”
If you want to get in really good shape, you must first act as if you’re in good shape. You will lift weights day after day after day until one day you have big muscles.
If you want to learn how to play piano, you will play the piano and you will play the piano and you will play the piano and you will suck for a long time until one day you’ll be able to compose.
If you wanna be a millionaire, you must first build the habits a millionaire is capable of. You must first, in your head, believe that you are a millionaire before you can become one.
“To fall asleep, you must first pretend to fall asleep.”
Act as though you are and you will become.
You can pretend your way to the life you want.
Pretend you’re the kind of person who gets the girl. Pretend you’re the kind of person who gets the job. Pretend you’re the kind of person who is in good shape. Pretend you’re the kind of person who can cook. Pretend you’re the kind of person who can do anything! You can!
Act as though you are and you will become.
I think Migos said it: Walk it like you talk it? Talk it like you walk it? I don’t know, something like that.
Talk it then you’ll walk it! :)
Thanks for reading and as always, Godspeed.
